지적장애아 디자인 교육 프로그램에 대한 연구

The purpose of this study is to recognize importance of design education for children with intellectual disability and to develop a peculiar design education program suitable for their special character. Design presents a whole picture of human and life, which is our culture. Today in our society, a cultural communication and understanding becomes an essential factor determining quality of our life. To respond to current change in our society, design education for children with intellectual disability is very important. The reason for choosing intellectual disability is a higher appearance ratio compared to other disabilities, so that this study can be used practically and applied frequently in field. Children with intellectual disability have meaningful limitations in general adaptive behaviors represented by intellectual functions and conceptive, social, practical adaptive skills, so special design education suitable for their specific character is essential. This study has explored peculiarities of children with intellectual disability in such as language, recognition, sociality, body, and locomotive capability. This study has also drawn a guiding principle of integrated approach of play and neighbor arts and developed and presented design education program.
