기업가의 부패인식과 기업성과 - 벤처기업을 중심으로 -

초록
본 연구는 설문조사를 통해 확보한 기업가의 부패인식과 기업성과의 자료를 이용해 두 변수 간의 관계를 실증적으로 검토했다. 설문조사의 표본은 대구광역시 지역의 512개 벤처기업을 대상으로 설정했다. 기업가의 부패인식은 향응․접대․거마비 제공, 뇌물이나 로비 및 불법이나 편법에 대한 인식(수용성)을 측정했으며, 기업성과는 지난 3년 전(또는 창업 후)부터 현재까지 성과에 기초해 시장점유율․매출액․수익성․자금조달․고객만족․전반적 성과의 여섯 가지 항목으로 측정한 주관적 기업성과다. 실증분석 결과 향응․접대․거마비 제공 혹은 뇌물이나 로비에 대한 인식은 주관적 기업성과에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타난 반면 불법이나 편법에 대한 부패인식은 주관적기업성과에 통계적으로 유의한 음(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 추정됐다. 이상의 결과는 부패의 정도가 심할수록 부패인식이 기업성과에 미치는 음의 영향이 크다는 사실을 의미하며, 기업가가 향응․접대․거마비 제공 혹은 뇌물이나 로비에 비해 불법이나 편법에 대해 더 엄격한 기준을 가지고 있다는 사실을 반영한다.
Abstract
Based on the survey data on entrepreneurs' corruption perception and corporate performances, this paper empirically examines the relationship between them. The sample for survey is 512 venture firms in Taegu region. Entrepreneurs' corruption perception is measured by the perception or approve based on the following 3 areas, such as (ⅰ) making an offer of banquet, reception and/or traffic expenses, (ⅱ) lobby and/or bribe and (ⅲ) illegality. Also, corporate performances is indexed by the entrepreneurs' subjective achievements of the last 3 years based on the following 6 categories, such as market power, sales amounts, profitability, funds availability, customers' satisfaction and general performance. The regression results suggest that illegality have negative and statistically significant impacts on the subject corporate performances, averaging the above 6 categories, and 4 categories, such as market power, sales amounts, customers' satisfaction and general performances. However, the negative effects of making an offer of banquet, reception and/or traffic expenses and lobby and/or bribe on subject corporate performances show less significant. The results imply that the impacts of entrepreneurs' corruption perception on corporate performances increase as the degree of intensity of corruption worsen.
