청소년 지위비행과 부모의 양육행위에 지역사회의 생태학적 특성이 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the ecological characteristics of community -community cohesion and informal social control -on parenting and status delinquency. This study pointed out the limitation of previous studies which have focused on micro explanations of juvenile delinquency rather than macro so that the study examined the impacts of structure and ecological characteries of community on parenting behaviors and status delinquency. To accomplish these goals, the author has accepted not a multiple regression but an hierarchical linear regression method with the nested data including Korea Youth Panel Data matched with Korea Census Data of ninety cities and counties in Korea. The results have revealed that communities'structural and ecological characteristics had partly significant effects on status delinquency, but the limited explanatory power. Although Informal social control of communities had positive impacts on parents' attachment and supervision, it did not have a direct effect on status delinquency. Community cohesion only had negative effects on status delinquency and communities' family disruption had a negative impact on informal social control, simultaneously increased delinquent behaviors of juveniles. Finally, parenting behaviors -emphasized in Social Bond Theory- did not strongly support theoretical expectation.
