The purpose of this study is to examine the forms of belly dance costumes currently being revealed and research the preference due to analyze the needs of the public and, based on this, present new belly dance costume designs perceived from belly dance movements and physical figure types. As for the study method, the definition, history and characteristics of belly dance were examined through the Internet and literature research, and the design characteristics and preference of belly dance costumes revealed in recent times were analyzed by conducting a survey questionnaire for 100 female belly dancers in their 20s to 40s.
