초록
The purpose of this study is to examine the determinants of regional variation in new firm formation by industrial sectors. We employed Zero Inflated Negative Binomial Regression model because there are many regions without new firm formation in a particular industry. We found that the factors affecting on new firm formation are different across industry. And the estimation results show that: (i) the expenditure of local government for local economic development and transportation infrastructures are positively related with new firm formation, (ii) the size of local labor market including foreign workers has a positive impact on the entry of new firm, (iii) agglomeration economies exist in new firm formation, (iv) rurality is negatively related with new firm formation in service and construction sector.
