테마파크 내 개발사례 분석을 통한 테마거리 디자인 연구

초록
현재 우리나라는 각 지자체마다 테마파크 사업과 특화거리 사업 등 테마 공간 조성을 위한 프로젝트들을 다양하게 진행하고 있다. 이러한 공간들을 디자인하고 계획하는 과정에서 과거와 달리 독특한 테마와 스토리를 적용하기 위한 많은 노력이 시도되고 있는 상황이다. 이러한 시도들에 발맞추어 본 연구는 테마파크 내에서 진행되었던 유럽형 테마거리 조성 프로젝트를 바탕으로 프로젝트 시행의 전 단계 프로세스를 정리하고 구성 요소를 분석함으로써 향후 유사 프로젝트의 디자인 진행 방향성을 제시하고자 하는데 그 목적을 두었다. ‘홀랜드빌리지’는 에버랜드 내 유러피안 어드벤처 지역의 튤립가든인 ‘포시즌스 가든’을 배경으로 위치하고 있다. 1990년대 초기에 설치된 원래의 시설물은 건축물이라기보다는 무대 세트에 가까운 건물로서 기능적으로 그리고 디자인적으로도 큰 문제점을 안고 있었다. 따라서 이러한 문제점을 완벽하게 해결하기 위해 기능적으로는 테라스의 확장, 동·하절기 극복을 위한 가제보 설치, 주방의 통합 및 기능 개선 등을 시행하였으며 디자인적으로는 네덜란드에서 치즈시장으로 유명한 중·소도시인 알크마르를 연구하여 건축적, 문화적 요소가 테마, 스토리와 함께 녹아들 수 있도록 공간을 조성하였다.
Abstract
As part of city development schemes, municipal governments in Korea have embarked on various projects to create theme parks and iconic streets that reflect the local atmosphere. Along with approach of cities to add themes and stories to space, this study on designing European themed streets in a theme park area presents guidelines to define the design development phases and analyzes the necessary design inputs for each phase. The old European styled outdoor restaurant facilities in 'Holland Village' are surrounded by a European tulip garden known as the 'Four Seasons Garden'. Built with temporary image-wall facades, the Holland Village has suffered from structural and operational problems. To enhance its functionality, the renovations focused on increasing the terrace seating capacity, adding gazebo structures, and integrating kitchen units. In addition, the traditional cheese market of Alkmaar in the Netherlands was used to enrich the story, design and enhanced theme.
