부산시의 디자인 정책 방향 -디자인 산업의 경제적 역할을 바탕으로-

This paper studies the economic roles of design industries theoretically and practically, with a possibility of application to the design policy of local government as like Busan city. The research reports and theoretical papers are surveyed and analyzed to know the status of the design industry in leading countries as well as to make the concepts around design industries relating to other similar industry concepts. Also the framework of the design industry production system is used to draw policy considerations for Busan city. This study implies that policy-making in the sense of the design industry rather than the cultural industry would be recommended in the local government, considering the potentially economic capacity of various industries in Busan city. It suggests also that policies in Busan city need to be improved to attract the design industry, to support their non-profit activities financially and institutionally. The frequent exchange between the design industry and other sectors, especially the service industry is necessary to increase the multiplier effect of spending in the design sectors. To help the design industry in Busan city, it may be needed to established networks domestically and internationally. This study has taken a step in developing policy implications for design industries in Busan city, but still needs further a research to use consistent statistical data in research methodology and to include a broader range of the design industry concept
