전략변수간의 장기균형분석 및 단기조정관계 - 철강산업과 제약산업의 전략집단 기업 내의 공적분과 오차수정모형을 중심으로 -

1970년대 전략산업 연구가 시작된 이래 다양한 산업에 주목할 만한 연구가 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 전략집단에 속한 기업군들은 공적분 분석에 의하여 각 전략변수들이 장기적인 균형관계를 보일 것인가. 둘째, 전략집단에 속한 기업군들은 균형을 향하여 전략적 변수들을 수렴 혹은 발산 하는 조정과정을 거칠 것인가. 셋째, 기술집약적인 제약산업과 전통적 제조업인 철강산업의 장기적 균형관계의 정도와 조정과정은 차이가 나는가를 알아보기 위함이다. 본 논문에서는 이전 연구들의 한계를 개선하고자 공적분 분석에 오차수정모형을 도입하였다. 또한 이론적 근거를 토대로 기존 공적분 분석에 다양한 전략변수들을 추가하였다. 그 결과 부분적으로 전략변수들의 장기적 균형관계를 확인할 수 있었고 단기적으로 수렴전략을 취하는 기업과 발산전략을 취하는 기업들을 볼 수 있었다. 전략집단간 경쟁적 환경과 전략에 따른 부분적인 장기적 관계가 나타났으며, 차별적 단기조정과정을 거치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 전략적 함의를 해석하였다.
Abstract
Strategic group research originated in the 1970s and a number of notable studies centered on the various industries. This paper examines whether there is a long-run stable equibrium relationship and short run adjustment process among strategy variables in the Korean steel and Phamasutical industries. The use of cointegration and vector error correction analysis overcomes some of the limitations associated with prior studies. Furthermore we extend several strategy variables to existing cointegration analysis model with different theoretical base. The results show partially the existence of long-run relationship among strategy variables. We could not find significant difference among long-run and short-run relationship with two industries examined. The results indicate in the case of short-run adjustment sone firms shows converge adjustment while others shows diverge adjustment. We try to explain underlying meanings of partial long-run relationship and different short adjustment by discussing each firm's strategy and competitive dynamics among strategy groups.
