An Analysis of the Research Trend "The Journal of Internet Electronic Commerce Research": 2001-2009

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of Internet EC(Electronic Commerce) research to supply the statistical data on research activities and to present the guidelines for the future research. This study analyzed diversity in EC research by examining 360 articles published in The Journal of Internet Electronic Commerce Research from 2001 to 2009. The classification system developed by Palvia et al.(2003) was employed to examine research themes of the articles. Research method was also examined. The results showed that 1) popular research topics consist of EC/EDI(B2C, B2B, B2G, C2C, electronic trading, EDI, etc), Internet(Internet business, Internet banking, e-learning, e-logistics), 2) non-empirical study took 44% of the 360 papers while field survey was characterized as the dominant research method in this study. Finally, this study suggests some recommendations for the future EC research in Korea.
