Corporate Social Responsibility in Contemporary China -Beginning with Wangjialing Coal Mine Disaster

In recent years, because of the significant impact of climate change and environmental problems, there are strong voices for asking corporations to take social responsibility. The concept of Corporate social Responsibility (CSR) has been drawn many attention from researchers and public not only in US and European countries, but also in China. Recently happed Coal mine disasters in China and the strike over at Honda’s Chinese car plants all remind us the importance of. CSR. This paper discusses CSR in contemporary China, including issues about worker’s right, environment pollution and environmental protection, education in rural areas of China. This paper also gives suggestions about dealing with irresponsible behavior of corporations.
