루시 오르타(Lucy Orta)의 디자인 특성연구: 사회공동체 디자인을 중심으로

초록
사회적 약자를 위한 디자인에서 출발한 루시 오르타의 디자인 작품들은 현재 우리 사회의 현주소의 모습을 나타내주고 있다. 그녀의 작품들은 현재 시대에 형성된 새로운 생활양식의 세계관과 거주지 공간에 대한 시대적 구조 현상에 대한 이해를 제공하여 줄 것이다. 본 연구는 각종 문헌 및 사례연구를 통하여 패션 디자인의 특성을 파악함과 이를 통해서 표출된 현대의 사회성과 디자인모드의 다양한 의미를 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 루시 오르타 디자인의 유형은 피난처 웨어, 생존도구, 결합웨어, 넥서스 구조 및 주거 확장 개념으로서의 남극대륙 모형 건축등과 같은 예술적 성향의 디자인 공동 작업등으로 나타났다. 디자인 특성들을 분석한 결과 첫째, 다양한 용도와 목적에 의해 변형 작업이 가능한 다기능성을 지니고 있으며 둘째, 기존의 주거 및 건축물의 구조에 대한 개념에서 이동성이 강조되어 어느 곳에서든 사용 가능한 실용적인 디자인이다. 셋째, 사회적 공동체의 집합 작업에서 이루어지는 다양한 예술적 활동들이 주를 이루었다. 넷째, 의복의 형태 및 기능에 대한 새로운 모드의 확장 개념을 담고 있다. 이러한 루시 오르타의 사회를 위한 디자인 특성에서 나타나는 내재적 가치와 의미를 살펴보면 첫째, 타인에 대한 배려와 책임성에 의한 사회적 공동체 의식이 강조되고 있다. 둘째, 다양한 공동체의 확산을 통해 사회의 구성과 결합에 의한 공동 작업의 효율성과 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 셋째, 뜻하지 않은 위급한 상황과 같은 사회적 재난구조에 대한 디자인적인 해결방안을 제시해주며 넷째, 지속가능성을 고려하는 미래사회를 위한 대안적인 디자인 교육방식을 제안한다. 루시 오르타의 작품들은 오늘날 현대 패션디자인에서 제안되는 다양한 생활양식과 모드 중에서 가장 혁신적이고 독창적인 방법으로 우리 사회를 재조명해주고 있다.
Abstract
The Lucy Orta's design speciality which started for the social weaker presents the modern societies at now. The study on the Lucy Orta's design speciality will give the chance to understand about a view for the new formed lifestyles in nowadays and residential spaces in social constructions. For this purpose, aims at researching the meaning of the present fashion and social phenomena based on the her works. The Lucy Orta's design in types showed the art works and collaborative works within the refuge wear, survival kits, a collective wear, a nexus architecture and an art work, Antarctica which is extended a residential space and architecture. As a result of analysing there are this. Firstly it shows the multi functional things by transformer for the various use or purposes. Second, it shows a useful design by the stresses the moving with a view about the before resident and architecture on construction. Third, it is a artistic things and a collective architecture with a collaborative work. Fourth, it is a extended mode which are included a shape and function in fashion mode. The specialties of Orta's design works means four notions. Firstly, it stresses a perception with considering for others and responsibility within the community. Second, it stresses the efficiency and need by the collaboration and the extended various community. Third, it has a design solution for the rescue in the social and sudden disasters. Fourth, it proposes an alternative design education method by the considering a sustainability for the future generations. We can take the notions about our society within the innovative and creative Lucy Orta's design methods.
