Abstract
The concept of bankruptcy was implemented after 1920 by academics who pursued cultural movements. It aims at regulating the economic stance of the people of Joseon in light of capitalism. These scholars claimed that it was possible to promote idealistic reform but in paradox, brought the notion of bankruptcy that conforms both to the external materialism and its psychological affects. This predominant thought was equally intended to be diminished with its counterpart, decadence which was unlikely to survive during those modern times. The movement calls for neutral perspectives among the people of Joseon. However, it has been found that autonomist views presented the limits of the reformation, and its success relies solely in the institutions of material world. The bankruptcy that was symbolized by academics during the 1920s could not help but be overwhelmed by such an actual phenomena due to agricultural depression of 1926 and the global recession of 1929. As the fear of bankruptcy became a reality in the lives of the people of Joseon, bankruptcy became a revelation by those academics who somehow knew the imminent danger that apparently surfaced to an index that regulated the lives of the people of Jos대n in real life. The people who went bankrupt earned the disposition to agree to all recommended measures in the chance of overcoming bankruptcy.
