설계경기에 나타난 공공도서관 디자인에 관한 연구

본 논문은 건축전문잡지 ‘설계경기 A&C'에 게재된 도서관설계의 당선작을 대상으로 설계개념과 공간분석을 통해서 건축가들이 도서관 설계에 있어 중요하게 생각하는 디자인 요소 및 공간구성의 실태를 파악하고 개선점을 제시하고자 한다. 분석결과를 상위차원 영역과 하위차원 영역으로 분류했다. 하위차원 영역에서 많이 언급된 설계개념은 ①공간구성, ②기능과 형태, ③동선, ④조경 및 외부공간, ⑤상징성 등의 순서로 나타났다. 상위차원 영역에서는 ①기능관련분야, ②심미성관련분야, ③기타분야, ④구조관련분야의 순서를 보이고 있다. 도서관 공간구성을 ①건물의 조합형태에 의한 분류, ②입구의 위치와 수에 의한 분류, ③내부동선의 결합 형태에 의한 분류, ④공간상호 위치관계에 의한 분류 등 4가지 기준을 가지고 분석했다. 분석결과 <PM(혼합형)-ES(출입구분리)-CJ(내부동선접합)>유형이 가장 많이 나타났다. 이 공간구성은 주업무기능과 부업무기능의 배치가 혼합형이며, 2개 이상의 출입구를 갖고 있다. 이 유형은 외부에서는 출입구가 분리되어 있지만 내부에서는 동선연결을 추구했다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to know the important design element for a public library, after analyzing design concept and organization of space of the prize winner at the architectural competition. To carry out the research, the best 31 works between the year of 2005 and 2010 were collected by the architectural magazine A&C published in every other month. During the research, special characters of each prize winner have been analyzed in the aspect of the design concept and the organization of space. While working on the design concept, a factor that created such concept was successfully figured out, and studying on the organization of space enabled us to know the special characters of the interior space. According to the result of the analysis in this study, the design elements which are selected highly frequent are ordered as follows; ①organization of space, ②function & shape, ③circulation, ④landscape, ⑤symbolic aspect. Through the analysis for the organization of space, I reach a conclusion, the frequent type is a "PM-ES-CJ". The study is anticipated to be helpful in understanding the trends in the field of designing a public library, and it is also likely for an architect to use it as a reference.
