본사의 기업문화, 본-자회사간 신뢰 및 커뮤니케이션이 자회사 통제수준에 미치는 영향분석: 중국 진출 한국기업을 중심으로

본 연구는 중국에 진출한 한국기업의 해외자회사 통제수준 결정요인을 분석한 논문으로, 자회사 통제수준에 영향을 주는 변수로서 선행연구에서 다루어 지지 않았던 변수를 설정하여 실증분석을 시도하였다. 즉, 본사의 기업문화(corporate culture), 본-자회사 간 관계특성요인으로서 신뢰(trust)와 커뮤니케이션(communication)을 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 본사가 창의적 조직문화가 강한 기업일수록, 본-자회사 간 신뢰수준이 높을수록, 본-자회사 간 커뮤니케이션이 활발할수록 본사의 해외 자회사에 대한 통제수준이 낮음을 나타내었다. 이와 같은 결과는 선행 연구에서 연구되지 않았던 새로운 변수 즉, 기업 문화, 신뢰, 커뮤니케이션이 본사의 통제활동에 영향을 미친다는 결과를 실증분석을 통해 증명하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 중국에 진출한 해외 자회사를 분석 대상으로 하여 중국에 진출한 기업들에게 향후 자회사 관리에 있어 높은 통제활동으로 생기는 비용을 줄일 수 있는 관리적 시사점을 제공해 주고 있다.
Abstract
This article investigates the determinants of the level of control by Korean firms over their foreign subsidiaries in China. We try to analyze the determinant variables that have never used in previous research. the variables include corporate culture of HQ, trust and communication as the relational characteristics. As results of the empirical analysis, subsidiary's control level is low when creative corporate culture is strong, trust level between a HQ and the subsidiary is high and communication efficiency between a HQ and the subsidiary is high. We found new three variables that influence on the level of control by Korean firms over their foreign subsidiaries. Through these results, we can provide managerial implication for Korean firms that try to reduce the control cost.
