학생자치법정을 활용한 학교 법교육의 실천 가능성

The number of schools applying new LRE programs, the korean teen court is increasing. Nevertheless, it is being criticized of the routine procedure of law and limits of the original manual. This study aims to explore the possibility of applying law-related education in schools by practising korean teen court. This study distinguishes LRE programs of lesson content outside the regular curricula from regular subject lesson. Especially, LRE programs of korean teen court has been closely looked at through case experiences of schools for the past five years. The results are as follows:First, the basic conception of korean teen court should be complementary to approach of the regular subject lesson and LRE programs of lesson content outside the regular curricula. Second, the success factors of regular subject lesson should include preparation for role playing(mock trial), development and propagation of learning materials, teacher training, network services hot-lines in foreign organizations, physical environment of the schools. Third, the success factors of LRE programs of lesson content outside the regular curricula should include selection of the students to be trained, professionalism of the guidance teachers, mutual cooperation among guidance teachers, invasion of privacy and legal procedures, development and effectiveness verification of many different types of positive punishments, orientation for the members of teen courts, school rules operation change. Finally, the revitalization for application of Law-related Education by using korean teen court should be linked to creative experiential activity as well as the field trip on the court, invitation of the community resources, and after-school classes.
