초록
The purpose of the present study is to investigate consumers' satisfaction level with the present uniform of hospitalized patients, and consumers' preference for colors, color combinations and patterns on textiles of hospitalized patient's uniforms. The study also developed and proposed the textiles design for hospitalized patient's uniforms which will be more effective for the psychological and physical treatments of patients. A descriptive survey using self-administered questionnaire was conducted to collect the data related to consumers' satisfaction level and preference regarding the textile design elements for the uniform of hospitalized patients. The sample consist of hospitalized patients and workers at 3 hospitals located in Seoul. A total of 392 completed responses were analyzed. For the analysis of the data, frequency, X², t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe-test were employed. The result showed that the mean score of respondents' satisfaction with the current uniform of hospitalized patients falls between 2 and 3 on the 5-point Likert type scale with 1=strongly unsatisfied, and 5=strongly satisfied. This mean score indicates that an effort to improve the satisfaction level of consumers with the current uniform is needed. The results of preference survey showed that light pink, light green and light blue are favored most as base color. Orange, green, purplish blue and pink are favored as pattern color. For the combination of base color and pattern color, publish blue pattern on a blue base, green pattern on a pink base, and green pattern on a light green were favored. Regarding the preference for the size and kind of patterns, geometric patterns and plant/fruit pattern in middle size are favored most. On the basis of the survey results, 3 proposed model design of textiles for hospitalized patient's uniform were developed. These 3 proposed designs were modified until they display higher level of preference by respondents comparing with the existing current designs in use.
