온라인 내부고발 저널리즘으로서의 위키리크스 보도에 대한 비판적 담론분석(CDA)
A Study on Wikileaks as an Online Whistleblowing Journalism with Critical Discourse Analysis

본 연구는 2010년 11월 28일 위키리크스가 대규모의 외교정보를 공개한 이후, 이를 보도한 국내 방송뉴스를 사례로 선정하고 비판적 담론분석(critical discourse ana lysis)을 수행한 것이다. 이와 같은 비판적담론분석의 목적은 위키리크스의 정보공개와 맞물려 제기되고 있는 새로운 저널리즘의 등장에 대해 기존의 언론보도의 담론실천, 나아가 이를 사회문화적 맥락에서의 실천과정 내에서 이해하기 위한 것이다. 분석대상 텍스트는 KBS 2TV의 ‘지구촌뉴스’에포함되는 3분 2초간의 영상물이었다. 비판적 담론분석을 수행한 결과 이 보도물은 텍스트 수준에서 ‘위키리크스의 문서공개는 국가이익을 위협하는 무책임한 일이다’, ‘언론자유는 무한히 보장되는 것이아니다’, ‘이란은 미국안보를 위협하는 적이다’, ‘위키리크스는 국제질서와 공공안전을위협하는 적이다’와 같은 언술들을 중심으로 담론실천이 나타나고 있었다. 한편 이와반대로 ‘언론의 자유로운 소통만이 사회적으로 진실에 접근할 수 있는 유일한 통로’임을 명시하는 언론에 대한 자유주의적 담론실천, 또는 ‘특정 공적 주체가 저지르는 불의한, 또는 불법적 행위들에 대한 공익적고발로서의 내부고발’을 옹호하는 담론 등은 가려지거나 배제되어 나타났다.
Abstract
This study is designed for conducting CDA(critical discourse analysis) on the news program which covers on wikileaks after November, 2010 as a case study. The purpose of CDA is to understand discourse practice and social and cultural practice on wikileaks evaluated as a new online whistle blowing journalism represented by major mass media. Analyzed text was visual materials in ‘Global Village News’ of KBS 2TV of which length was 3 min. 2 sec. The result of analysis is as followings: there are 4 major statements as a discourse practice. 1) information release of Wikileaks is irresponsible activity threatening the national security of USA, 2) Free Speech right can not be allowed all the times, 3) Iran is enemy of USA, 4) Wikileaks is also dangerous enemy threatening the international order and public security. On the contrary, statements like ‘free information flow make society access truth’, or ‘Whistle blowing can make society transparent’ can not be found and be excluded in the case.
