산업주기상의 최적재무전략 제고방안에 관한 연구

초록
본 연구는 한국의 경제적 환경 변화에 따른 호텔산업주기 모델을 제시하고 경기 호황기, 최고 호황기, 최고 절정기, 회복기 및 다른 호황기를 정확히 판단하여 높은 재무성과 기업들이 낮은 재무성과 기업들과는 확연히 다른 재무전략을 실행하였는지를 규명하여 최적의 재무 전략을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 통해 호텔기업들로 하여금 합리적인 경영전략을 세우고 이익을 극대화 하는데 유용한 정보를 제공하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 전체산업주기와 호텔산업주기에 대한 교차분석을 통하여 순환적 패턴을 찾아내고 호텔산업주기 상에서 높고 낮은 재무성과를 내는 호텔기업들의 재무전략들 사이의 관계를 비교분석 하여 최적의 재무전략을 도출 하였다. 연구결과에 의하면 높은 재무성과 호텔기업들은 호텔산업주기 환경에서 재무전략 및 시행방법의 선택에 있어서 보다 대칭적 경향을 보이며 호텔산업주기상의 이벤트들의 방향과 대부분 동일하였다. 높은 재무성과 호텔기업들은 유연성과 전문성을 바탕으로 그 들의 재무전략을 조정한 것으로 판명 되었다.
Abstract
Industry business cycles are not as predictable as the calendar year seasons because they vary more in length and intensity. However, the guidelines derived from past historical practices in the cycle can provide enough information to identify the various business seasons and thus best financial practices during those stages of the cycle. These financial practices are typically in the areas of financing, investment, and dividend decisions. If one finds financial strategies or patterns of financial practices of high performing firms that are particularly different from those of low performing firms, a valuable learning opportunity is presented. This study endeavored this tasks and revealed the best financial practices of the hotel firms over the hotel industry cycles of Korea. The results of this study clearly give the management an insight into industry trends and sound financial strategies that can be used over the cycle to optimize profit.
