Globalization is said to have had tremendous impact on entrepreneurial development around the world today especially in the developed countries. With the marked changes in the world economic growth in the years following the Second World War, many scholars saw the integration of world economies as a potentiality to global peace and harmony. This phenomenon has subsequently increased disparity among different classes in developing countries. Globalization is believed to have accentuated gender inequality in small scale businesses. The paper reviews relevant literature on globalization, gender and small scale entrepreneurship in Nigeria. To locate this problem within a theoretical background, the paper uses neo-liberal and patriarchal theories and their impacts on gender to establish a historic and dialectical link between globalization, gender and small scale business in Nigeria. The paper concludes that there is need for proactive gender policies from government that can aid massive business establishment by women especially.
