전통배자의 현대적 활용을 위한 디자인 연구

This study's purpose is to design a Baeja which is a type of clothes that is practical for putting on the traditional costume that is suiTable for moderns to wear. The method of research was based on literature review. This study have focused on Baeja which have decoration of remains for Joseon dynasty and excepted fur Baeja & summer Baeja. Modern Baeja was investigated by using magazines and internet. Baeja is a costume that is sleeveless, short in length and a shape that fasten the clothing parallel not overlapping. Baeja has changed to many shape as each period passed by. Traditional Baeja that used in modern days was mostly done by focusing on details of traditional shape, fabric and color and design a fabric which was suiTable to make harmony. This study maintained the shape of traditional Baeja and designed Men's Baeja, Women's Baeja, striped cloth Baeja and Baeja adapting Jogakbo(patchwork) by using the harmony of denim, which is a traditional and modern fabric. For Baeja's modern design, this study used Git(collar), Goreum(string), fastening the clothing, Jogakgibub(patchwork), Saekdong(color stripes). This study designed four Baejas by using denim & traditional material Mosi(fine linen), Dan(silk) for suiTable modern day life. Jogak & Saekdong was used for decoration. It is though that living a life wearing traditional costume is difficult in modern days, but wearing a costume like Baeja as a easy outer. This study expects for further investigation on traditional culture by developing a practical costume design.
