벤처기업 내부역량과 경쟁전략 간의 적합성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

본 연구에서는 국내 벤처기업을 대상으로 벤처기업 내부역량과 경쟁전략 간의 관계, 그리고 이들 요인 간 적합성이 벤처기업의 경영 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하고자 하였다. 그 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내부역량이 경쟁전략에 미치는 영향에 관해 검증결과 벤처기업 내부역량 중 기술역량은 차별화전략에 영향을 미쳤으며 벤처기업 내부역량 중 재무역량은 원가 전략에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 경쟁전략의 유형 별로 유의한 관계를 가지고 있는 서로 다른 벤처기업 내부 역량들이 존재하고 있는 것으로 나타나, 벤처기업이 추구하는 경쟁전략과 내부역량 간에 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다는 사실을 밝혀내었다. 둘째, 본 연구의 결과, 벤처기업이 높은 경영성과를 달성하기 위해서는 내부역량과 경쟁전략의 적합성 을 지니고 있는 것이 중요하며, 이렇게 적합성이 높게 나타나는 경우 벤처기업의 경영성과에 가장 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인하였다. 전략적 경영의 대전제는 기업이 경쟁사 대비 경쟁적 우위를 차지하기 위해서는 내부 능력에 적합한 최적의 전략을 선택해야 한다는 것이다. 본 연구는 전략적 상황이론과 자원준거관점에 근거한 변수들을 바탕으로, 주로 이론적인 연구에 제한되어 있었던 벤처기업의 내부역량과 경쟁전략과의 적합성이 벤처기업의 경영성과에 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 벤처기업의 대상으로 실증적으로 입증했다는 점에서 가장 큰 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Based on the strategic contingency theory and the resource based view, this study analyzed relationships among Venture business Competence and strategy the effects of their fit on firm Venture Business Performance. Hypotheses were tested over a sample of 318 domestic companies in 52 different industries. Based on the strategic contingency theory and the resource based view, this study analyzed relationships among business environment, competitive strategy and competence and the effects of their fit on firm performance. Hypotheses were tested over a sample of 962 domestic companies in 28 different industries. Empirical result of hypotheses without performance implications showed that, in accordance to the strategic contingency theory, business competence of the firm was closely related with the firm's choice of competitive strategy. In order to test hypotheses involving performance implication, we divided firms in our sample into high-performance and low-performance groups, and investigated the differences in various fit scores business competence and competitive strategy;environment-strategy(external fit) and competence-strategy(internal fit); than low-performance groups. Such empirical results suggest that, in accordance to the strategic contingency theory and the resource based view, the fit between Venture business competence and competitive strategy; and the integrated fit among competence-strategy(internal fit), all have positive effects on firm performance.
