청소년 매체이용상 비행에서의 원인요소와 통제요소의 통합적 검증 : 현실, 인터넷, 휴대전화 비행의 비교

이 연구는 청소년비행에의 원인요소와 통제요소들을 함께 고려하는 통합모델을 구성하고이를 현실에서 뿐만 아니라 인터넷, 그리고 휴대전화 비행 등 여러 매체이용상의 비행에 적용해보고 그 차이를 살펴보려는 것에 주목한다. 이 연구에서 원인요소는 낮은 자기통제력, 부정적감정, 비행친구와의 접촉을, 통제요소는 개인도덕신념, 공식처벌인식, 주위 사람와의 유대를다루고 이들의 독립적 작용과 아울러 원인요소와 통제요소의 상호작용효과를 세 매체별로 살펴본다. 이 연구결과에서는 세 매체상의 비행 모두에서 낮은 자기통제력과 비행친구와의 접촉이주요 원인요소인 것으로 나타났다. 통제요소로 주위 사람들의 유대는 현실비행에서, 공식처벌은휴대전화비행에서, 그리고 개인도덕신념은 모든 매체의 비행에서 중요한 요인이었다. 원인요소와 통제요소의 상호작용효과를 보면 물론 세 매체별로 다소 다르지만 전체적으로 볼 때 낮은자기통제력의 영향은 개인도덕신념에 의해 통제되고, 반면 비행친구와의 접촉의 영향은 공식처벌이나 주위 사람과의 유대에 의해 통제되는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 비행연구에서 원인과통제요소의 통합적 설명이 필요하다는 점과 아울러 매체별로도 그 원인의 작용이 유사한 점도있지만 상이할 수 있음을 제시한다.
Abstract
This study constructs an integrated model considering both risk and control factors of delinquency and applies it to three types of delinquency across offline real, internet, and cell phone media. This study examines the effects of low self-control, negative emotion, and association with delinquent peers as risk factors, and moral belief, the perceived formal sanctions, and social bonds as control factors. This study tests not only their independent effects but interaction effects between risk and control factors. Using data from surveying 715 male and female middle school students, results show that low self-control and associations with delinquent peers have significant effects on all types of delinquency. Results also show that the effect of social bonds is significant in offline delinquency, the effect of the perceived formal sanctions is significant in cell phone delinquency,and the effect of moral belief is large in all types of delinquency. It is shown that the interaction effect between low self-control and moral belief is significant and also reveals that the effect of associations with delinquent peers can be buffered by both the perceived formal sanction and social bonds. This results support an integrated model of delinquency but they reveal that the effects of each explanatory factor can be different across three types of delinquency.
