후설과 헤겔 ―초월론적 지역현상학의 방법으로서 환원, 변증법, 해석―

초록
후설과 헤겔을 서로 비교하는 연구는 종종 있지만, 그 둘의 철학을 같은 ‘현상학’이라는 이름아래 전격적으로 종합하려는 시도는 흔치않다. 후설의 현상학은 직접적으로 주어지는 것을 포착, 묘사하려는 시도인 반면, 헤겔의 현상학은 오직 변증법을 통한 사변적 관념철학이라 알려져 있기 때문이다. 그러나 본 논문에서 우리는 다음과 같은 생산적인 방식으로 후설과 헤겔의 현상학을 종합해보고자 한다. 우선 ‘노에마’, ‘생활세계’ 등 가장 직접적으로 주어지는 것을 포착하려는 후설의 개념설정들을 ‘지역’이라는 개념으로 일괄적으로 종합하여 이해하는 것이다. 그렇다면 후설은 자신의 현상학을 가장 근원적인 제1의 학문으로 생각했는바, 이제 가장 근원적인 제1의 학문이란 다름 아닌 ‘지역학’인 것이다. 우리는 이런 ‘지역학’을 ‘초월론적 지역현상학’이라 부르기로 한다. 이렇듯 초월론적-현상학적 환원을 통해 주어지는 ‘지역’의 현상은 단순한 ‘사물’, ‘생명’ 그리고 ‘문화’라는 여러 층을 가지고 있다. 그런데 ‘사물’, ‘생명’, ‘문화’ 등 ‘지역’의 여러 층들이 구성되는 방식을 살펴보면, 그것은 다름 아닌 역동적인 변증법이라는 것이 밝혀진다. 이렇게 ‘초월론적 지역현상학’의 구도에서 후설과 헤겔의 현상학이 종합되면서, 헤겔 현상학의 사변적인 측면들이 종식되고 ‘직접적인’ 현상학적 측면들이 부각된다. 더군다나 ‘초월론적 지역현상학’으로 이해된 후설과 헤겔의 현상학 둘 모두는 더 이상 초월론(관념론)이냐 존재론(실재론)이냐 하는 논쟁에 휘말릴 필요가 없을 것이다. 왜냐하면 현상학적으로 ‘지역’이란 우리가 구성하는 초월론적인 것인 동시에, 우리가 대면해야 하는 존재론적인 것이기 때문이다.
Abstract
There are studies comparing Husserl and Hegel indeed. However, there are few attempts to radically combine their philosophies under the same name 'phenomenology.' Husserl's phenomenology strives to get to and describe the 'immediately given,' whereas Hegel's phenomenology is known as speculative idealism in terms of dialectics only. In this paper, however, we are going to combine Husserl's and Hegel's phenomenology in the following productive way. First of all, we understand Husserl's concepts like 'noema' and 'life-world,' designed to get to the 'immediately given,' consistently as 'region.' Then, as Husserl thought of his phenomenology as the most fundamental first science, so is 'regional studies' nothing less than the most fundamental first science. We call such 'regional studies' 'transcendental-phenomenological regional studies.' The phenomenon 'region' revealed through transcendental-phenomenological reduction has a number of layers such as simple 'things,' 'life,' and 'culture.' If we look closely at how the layers of 'region' like 'thing,' 'life,' 'culture' are constituted, we can see that they are constituted through the dynamics of dialectics. Thus, Husserl's and Hegel's phenomenology are combined within the framework of 'transcendental phenomenological regional studies' and thereby the speculative aspects in Hegel's phenomenology are suppressed, the 'immediate' phenomenological aspects are emphasized. Moreover, neither of Husserl's and Hegel's phenomenology understood as 'regional studies' needs to be involved in the controversy over transcendentalism(idealsim) or ontology(realism). For, phenomenologically speaking, 'region' is not only what we constitute transcendentally, but also what we have to encounter ontologically.
