원가기획시스템을 이용한 제조기업의 혁신 제고 방안

본 연구는 제조기업의 원가기획시스템이 지식경영시스템으로서 제품혁신과 과정혁신에 영향을 미치는지 여부를 입증하였다. 그리고 기업의 상황요인들이 어떤 상태로 원가기획시스템과 연계되어야 원가기획시스템의 혁신 제고효과가 더욱 클 수 있는지를 분석을 통해 제시하였다. 또한, 제품 및 과정 혁신의 기업 재무성과에 대한 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 원가기획시스템의 혁신에 대한 영향 분석에서는 일부 제품혁신과 주요 과정혁신에 유의한 양의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 상황요인들의 적절한 상태와 원가기획시스템의 연계가 혁신 수준을 높이는데 도움이 되는지를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같았다. 제조기업이 유연 생산전략을 도입하고 조직 문화의 혁신성과 지원성이 높으며 조직구조가 유기적일 경우 원가기획시스템의 구축이 그렇지 못한 경우 보다 더 높은 수준의 혁신을 가져온다는 것이다. 기업성과에 대한 영향 분석에서는, 매출액 이익률, 총자산 영업이익률과 매출원가율에 대한 제품 또는 과정 혁신의 영향이 유의적이었다. 이러한 연구결과들로부터 원가기획시스템이 단순한 원가절감 수단이 아닌 지식경영 또는 혁신 관점에서의 도입 및 구축이 필요하다는 것을 제안할 수 있다.
Abstract
This study empirically examined the effects of target costing systems(TCS), which are considered as knowledge management systems, on the degrees of the product and process innovations, and the impact of the innovations on the financial performance of a firm. We also investigated the conditions of contextual variables, such as production strategy, organizational culture and structure, which contribute to the enhancement of the product and process innovations when TCS are highly utilized in manufacturing firms. According to the results of this study, it was found that TCS have a significant and positive impact on the minor product and major process innovations. It was empirically demonstrated that when a firm employes a high flexibility-oriented production strategy, the innovative and supportive culture and the organic organizational structures, the positive effects of TCS on the product and process innovations can be highly enhanced. The effects of the innovations on the financial performance, such as return on sales, return on assets and ratio of cost of goods sold, were significant and positive or negative. Hence, it is concluded that TCS must be adopted and developed in the perspectives of knowledge management as well as innovation facilitation.
