루버기능을 강조한 조명디자인 연구

초록
현대 사회는 쾌적한 주거환경은 물론 아름다운 공간에 대한 관심과 욕구가 점차 많아지고 있다. 이에 따라 그 공간을 구성하고 있는 조명에 대한 관심과 욕구 또한 다양해지고 있는 추세이다. 과거의 조명이 어두움을 밝혀주는 기능적인 면을 주로 하였다면, 현대의 그것은 공간을 재구성하는 하나의 중요한 요소로써 디자인적인 면을 강조하고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 실제 사용 가능한 실내조명기구를 이용, 그 조명이 설치된 공간이 보다 문화적인 의미를 가질 수 있도록 하는데 디자인의 중점을 두었다. 공간(Space)의 선택에 있어서는 개인공간과 단체공간이 공존하는 사무공간을 선정하였고, 광원은 열방사가 적고 수명이 길며, 고효율적인 형광램프를 선택하였다. 이러한 조건에서 조명이 공간에 미치는 영향에 대하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 설치된 조명기구가 공간 속의 조형 요소로 표현될 수 있도록 공간의 분위기에 따른 다양한 연출을 시도하였다. 특히, 한 가지 모양의 형태를 중첩하여 단순한 형태의 조명기구가 될 수 있도록 하는 반면 그 속에서 중첩된 빛의 흐름을 통해 자연스럽게 빛의 변화를 느낄 수 있도록 유도하였다. 본 작품의 구성 요소들은 그 모양이나 소재가 단순하고 규칙적이며 강한 인상을 주지만, 각 유니트(Unit)가 중첩․반복되어 구성한 종합적인 형태는 빛과 결부되어 부드러운 부피감을 형성한다. 본 연구자는 이를 통해 사무조명에 대한, 더 나아가 사무공간에 대한 새로운 시각을 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
The modern society displays an increasing interest and passion for not only pleasant living environment but also beautiful space. As such, one sees a trend toward diversification of interest and passion for lighting which in turn constitutes a part of that space. If the main function of lighting in the past was to bring light to a dark place, lighting in today’s world is accentuated by its design, which in turn occupies an important place in the process of re-constituting a given space. Thus, the present researcher has utilized an interior lighting apparatus that has commercial use and has focused on the kind of lighting design that introduces cultural meaning to a space where that lighting is set up. A priority of concern was shown to the proper understanding of the space where lighting apparatus was to be set up rather than to the design of the interior lighting apparatus. Also, an analysis of the meaning which lighting carries in that designated space has been conducted. First, it can be said that, in general, space is where a matter or an object This study has selected the workspace as the subject of its analysis, since it is where personal and communal space overlap. Also, a fluorescent lamp has been chosen as our light source, not least because of its low heat emission and long lifespan. This study has sought to explore the impact of lighting upon a given space. This study has attempted a variety of settings that vary depending on the atmosphere of the given space in order to express the installed lighting apparatus as a model component of that space. Especially, by overlapping a single form, the lighting apparatus was given a simple form. Yet, this study sought to induce an uncontrived recognition of the changes in the light by observing the flow of overlapping light as found in the simple form. The various components that make up the production of this study display simplicity in its shape or material, show regularity, and convey a strong impression. However, the comprehensive form that is constituted by each overlapping and repeated unit merges with the light and give outs a smooth sensation. Based on the results of this study, the present researcher seeks to propose new perspectives not only on lighting in the workspace but also on the workspace in general.
