특허정보를 이용한 기술융합의 학제적 동향 분석: 대기오염물질 저감기술의 사례

기술적으로 높은 적용성을 지니는 기술은 다른 기술과의 결합을 통해 고부가가치 제품개발 및 새로운 시장 창출에 활용될 수 있다. 이에 따라 최근에는 연구개발기획 단계에서 기술들 간의 학제적 동향에 대한 분석이 점차 중요시되고 있으며, 본 연구는 특허인용정보에 기반한 사회 연결망 분석을 활용하여 특허 클래스 수준에서 융합기술의 학제적 특성을 시각적이고 계량적으로 분석하는 방법을 제시한다. 본 연구에서는 융합기술의 사례로서 산업체 발생 대기오염물질 저감기술 특허들의 인용정보를 활용하여 융합기술과 관련된 특허 클래스들 간의 지식흐름을 도출한 후, 사회 연결망 분석을 활용하여 융합기술과 관련된 기술분야들 즉, 특허 클래스들의 수렴강도, 수렴 다양성, 방출강도, 방출 다양성과 같은 학제적 특성을 시각화하고 연도구간별로 비교분석한다. 본 연구의 방법은 융합기술의 학제적 동향에 대한 특성을 계량적으로 분석할 수 있도록 함에 따라 연구개발의 사전기획시 기술융합의 현안을 도출하거나 기술융합의 동향을 이해하기 위한 프로세스에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
Technology that has high applicability can be used to develop high value-added products and create new markets by technological convergence with other relevant technologies. Recently, understanding interdisciplinary trends of technology is becoming increasingly important for the research and development planning, so this paper proposes a method that intuitively and quantitatively identifies interdisciplinary trends of a given technology at the level of patent class, using patent citation-based social network analysis. Using patents related to air pollutant control technology, the proposed method 1) extract knowledge flow between the technology and adjacent technologies by expoiting patent citation, 2) then visualizes and identifies interdisciplinarity of the technology at the level of patent class including convergence strength, convergence diversity, diffusion strength and diffusion diversity. We expect that the method for interdiscipliarity analysis can be incorporated into identifying further issues of technological convergence and understanding trends of technological convergence in the research and development planning process.
