What Drives a Successful e-Learning: Focusing on the Critical Factors Influencing e-Learning Satisfaction

스마트 시대로 진입하면서 이러닝 시장 규모가 커지자, 각 개인과 조직들은 이러닝을 전략적으로 활용하는데 관심을 가지기 시작했다. 그러나 이러닝 이용 결과는 아직 만족할만한 수준이 아니며, 더군다나 기존 연구들도 이러닝의 주요 변수들을 개별적으로 사용해서 실무적인 시사점을 도출하는데 한계를 보이고 있다. 본 연구는 이를 극복하기 위하여, Davis의 기술수용모델(TAM)과 플로우(flow) 이론의 통합적 연구모형을 통하여 학습자의 이러닝 만족에 영향을 미치는 주요성공요인들을 규명하고자 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 학습자의 자기주도학습, 이러닝 콘텐츠의 품질 등을 독립변수로, 학습자 만족을 종속변수로, 학습자의 태도와 플로우를 매개변수로 설정한 후, 이들 변수간의 관계를 검증하였다. 본 연구를 위해 설문조사 방법을 이용하였고, 이러닝 사이트 학습 경험자를 대상으로 수집한 총 409개의 데이터를 이용하여 SmartPLS를 이용한 구조모형을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 콘텐츠 품질은 학습자 만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 둘째, 학습자 태도와 플로우는 자기주도학습 및 콘텐츠 품질과 학습자 만족 간의 관계상에서 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이와같은 결과는 학습자의 태도와 플로우가 학습자 수준에 적합한 자기주도학습 강화 기능 제공 및 학습자 수준에 적합한 이러닝 콘텐츠 제공 등을 통하여 충분히 배가될 수 있음을 의미하는 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the critical factors influencing e-learning satisfaction through the integrated research model of perspective of Davis's Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and flow theory. Using self-directed learning, contents quality as independent variable, e-learning satisfaction as dependent variable and attitude and flow as mediator, this research has examined the relationship among these variables. The survey method was used for this research, and data from 409 e-learning users were used for Structural Equation Model(SEM) analysis. The main results of this empirical research are summarized as follows. First, contents quality has a significant effect on e-learning satisfaction. Second, attitude and flow play a mediating role in the relationship between self-directed learning, contents quality and e-learning satisfaction. The meaningful implication of this research is that e-learning satisfaction improves through well-developed attitude and flow as well as contents quality and self-directed learning.
