This thesis has purpose of explaining what the meaning of ‘Smart design’ is and explaining the Expressional Characteristics and effects of our lifestyle. The meaning of the ‘Smart design’ is that based on smart technologies and perceived User’s personality and varieties, it has to satisfied with User requests. In the Age of Smart, main keywords of Smart design are Smart technologies, User personalization, Inter-connected. Based on upper three things, it shows us three conclusions ; Smart technologies design, User self-directed Design, Communication expansion design through the analysis of case study. Through Smart technologies, Smart design has the characteristics which its formativeness is simple, while which the importance of contents design is being emphasized. On applying new technologies such as Augmented Reality and 3D Hologram, Smart design show the users distinction diversity. In the part of User self-directed Design, Smart design has the characteristics which interaction design is the important thing to communicated with User and smart design(design environments). Finally Smart design has also the characteristics of Communication expansion design. It has the features the ambiguity of borders by convergence and the enhancement of connection by network. In the future, we expect to will be enriched and upgrading all our lives by Smart design. Also it will give us new lifestyle and create a new culture.
