Research on Personal Information Management for Hotel Corporations: Focused on Deluxe Hotels in City of Seoul

Recently, the necessity of the confidentiality controls has been increasing in the society and become an issue in reality. In this context, privacy protection is very important for the sustainable management and business perpetuity of the hotel corporations. Although the necessity of privacy protection has socially enhanced, research documents and theoretical grounds associated with the privacy protection of hotel corporations are nonexistent in reality. Privacy protection being intangible assets for hotel corporations is valuable assets for important customer management, marketing, sales and promotion; however, its management is relatively insufficient. Moreover, personal information that hotels retain is made up of information on important figures in local areas such as socially famous persons and high-ranking officials so hotel corporation management would suffer considerable damage due to lowering credibility if their personal information is carelessly handled. Thus, the research is to propose working-level implications to help hotel corporations in Korea to set up and implement desirable personal information management based on “Laws on using promotion of information communication networks and information protection.”
