형태주제와 디자인원리를 중심으로 한 포켓파크의 디자인 분석 - 도심재창조 프로젝트를 중심으로 -

고층빌딩이 즐비하게 늘어서 있는 도심 속 포켓파크는 규모는 작지만 시민들에게 휴식을 제공하는 소공원으로의 역할을 하며, 도시 환경 개선에 기여하는 가치있는 공간이다. 본 논문에서는 포켓파크의 디자인의 현황 분석을 통해 조성 실태를 알아보고, 이를 통해 포켓파크의 통합디자인 가이드라인 마련을 위한 기초적 자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 서울시에서 추진하는 ‘도심재창조 프로젝트’의 포켓파크를 연구범위로 선정하였으며, 입지 여건 및 공간구성요소에 따른 조성실태 분석을 위해 각 대상지의 평면도를 바탕으로 현장답사를 실시하였다. 연구방법은 조경, 건축적 측면을 다룬 포켓파크에 관한 연구논문, 서적 및 보고서 등의 고찰을 바탕으로 진행하였으며, 환경적 자극의 가장 중요한 시각적 반응에 초점을 두고 심리적인 지각작용 및 연상작용을 불러일으키는 형태주제와 이를 통해 나타나는 디자인 원리를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 포켓파크 대상지에 사용된 형태주제는 주로 사각과 원의 형태를 활용한 기하학적 형태주제로 구성되어 정형적이고 통일성 있는 공간이 조성되고 있었으나, 형태주제 활용의 한정성과편중성으로 인해 각 공간만의 장소성과 정체성을 반영하지 못한 계획이었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 포켓파크의 입지여건을 고려하지 않은 형태주제의 사용으로 주변 환경의 연계성과 공간요소들 간의 조화로운 상호관계를 형성하지 못하는 한계점이 있었다. 따라서 시민과 관광객이 즐겨 찾는 활력 넘치고 매력 있는 도심 속 포켓파크가 되기 위해서는 공간구성 요소간의 통합적인 디자인으로 통일성을 이루는 포켓파크를 구성하되, 각 공간의 다양성 속에서 상호관련성을 이루는 디자인을 추구해야 할 것이다. 이와 같이 우수한 디자인의 포켓파크는 기업이미지를 제고해주는 홍보매개체로서의 역할을 할 뿐만 아니라 삭막한 도심 환경을 개선하는 경관미로 디자인서울의 발전에 기여할 것이며, 보다 나은 도시 이미지를 표현함으로써 지역 경쟁력을 높이는 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
A pocket park in the city, between high-rise buildings, provides a place to relax for the citizens; despite its small scale, it is a valuable space which contributes to the environmental improvement of the city. The aim of this study is to investigate the current state of pocket parks through analysis of the present conditions, and provide documents for establishing design guidelines about pocket parks. It has been concentrated on ‘Urban Renaissance for Seoul Projects’, and it made an inspection of the site which is based on the plans to analysis of the present conditions. The main method of this study is to review the pocket parks dealing with landscape architectural and architectural sides from variety of literatures including thesis, books, periodicals and the other publications. This study focuses on the visual reaction to the environmental stimulus and analyzes structured themes and design principles which arouse psychological perception and associations. Structured themes in pocket parks consist of geometrical themes using quadrangle and circular patterns. However, it can be assumed that the plan does not reflect on the placeness and identity of the space due to limited application of the structured themes. Therefore, an integrated design of constituent elements of spaces and a sustainable design should be projected to make a pocket park which is full of energy, and attracts not only citizens but also tourists. The design of the pocket park should not only promote the image of the edifice but also enhance the environment of the city. Furthermore, the pocket park should work as a foothold that reinforces local competitiveness through representing better images for the city.
