초록
자연에 대한 동경은 인간의 본능으로 누구나가 자연을 통하여 즐거움과 휴식을 얻는다. 인간의 그러한 본능으로 인하여 자연을 항상 향유(享有)하고자 제품에 자연의 이미지를 부여하며, 그를 통하여 편안함을 누린다. 그러나 과학기술의 발달과 더불어 주위의 모든 것이 기계화 되고 대량생산으로 규격화되어 비인간화 되어가는 현대에서 항상 자연을 누릴 수 있는 것 또한 쉬운 일 만은 아니다. 그리하여 이러한 자연을 주제로 디자인 영역을 구현해 나가는 디자인 사조의 조사를 통하여 자연을 동경하는 인간과 공존하는 향후의 디자인 방향을 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 시대에 따라 자연을 동경하는 디자인 사조를 찾고자 한다. 그것을 통하여 자연과 디자인의 지속적인 관계와 디자인에 있어서 자연의 중요성을 재조명하고 이를 통하여 다양한 디자인 사조가 녹아있는 현대에 특히 자연에서의 주제 (Motif)를 찾아 디자인 형상을 전개하는 기존의 디자인 사조와 더불어 오르가닉(Organic) 디자인을 심도 있게 조사하여 향후의 디자인 조형에서 자연의 중요성을 찾아 디자인에 적합한 조형의 일관성을 찾고 디자인의 새로운 방향을 찾고자 한다. 이를 위하여 선행적으로 관련문헌 및 논문 연구를 통한 이론적 조사를 하여 각 시대별 자연을 주제로 한 디자인 사조를 찾아 그 조형적 특징을 추출하고 시대별 영향을 알아보았다. 또한 현재 활동 중인 오르가닉 디자인 성향이 강한 작가와 그의 작품들을 통하여 조형적 특성을 연구하였다. 마지막으로 분석되어진 조형적 특징 및 디자인에 내제 되어있는 디자인 이념을 정리하여 향후 디자인에 있어서 인간과 자연의 공존을 통하여 보다 발전적인 나아갈 수 있는 방향을 찾아보았다.
Abstract
Hankering after Nature is the instinct of mankind. Everybody takes joy and comfort from Nature. This man’s instinct gives the products the images of Nature to enjoy Nature all the time, and gets man to feel comfortable from them. But it’s not easy to enjoy Nature all the time in modern life where dehumanization results from mechanization by scientific technology and standardization by mass production. Therefore I have sought the direction for future design which can coexist with persons longing for Nature, by the research of design trend that realizes the design area based on Nature. This research has sought the design trends which longed for Nature with the change of times. This research sheds new light on the continuous relationship between Nature and design, and the importance of Nature. This research finds the importance of Nature in design, the consistency of modeling suitable for design, and suggests new direction for design by an in-depth study for organic design in addition to the existing design trend which develops design forms based on the Motif of Nature. For this, related references and theses were theoretically examined, each age’s modeling characteristics of design trends whose subject were Nature were inspected, and their influences were studied. The artists who are active and characterized by Organic design and their modeling characteristic works were studied by their works. Lastly analysed modeling characteristic and inherent design idea in design were summarized, and the progressive direction by coexistence of man and Nature in future design was studied.
