근로자의 개인정보보호에 관한 소고

With the remarkable growth of IT, personal information is certainly one of the things that increase a company's added values in assets and marketing strategy, in terms of customer management, personnel management and labor management. As a result, in recent years there has been the invasion of privacy in collecting, accumulating and using the employee’s personal information. Also because it is strongly requested that the personal specific life style is important, there has been growing conflict of interests between the employer and the employee regarding personal information violation. Employee’s personal information violation by the employer has been a big issue throughout the world. It is very serious problem from the process which changes into the information society. But, employee’s privacy is not well protected at present because in reality employee‘s personal information is a target for collecting, accumulating and using. This article aims to suggest certain solutions for the problems of employees' privacy and personal information protection. This article takes up the challenge from an employees’ privacy as a personal right in the workplace and examined laws that relate to employees’ personal information in Korea and then discussed legal guidelines to protect their personal information.
