A Study of the Role of ODA in Cambodian Economic Development

This paper analyzes the onwards development of Cambodian economy by using Official Development Assistance (ODA) between 2004 and 2009 which had provided as multilateral and bilateral assistance. It, also, takes an overview on both terms of aid, grant and loan. The multilateral assistance which is provided by UN, Global Fund, ADB, World Bank, contributed to Health, Governance and Administration, and Social Welfare. The bilateral assistance which the most is provided by China, Japan, and Korea contributed to Transportation. The economic supported sectors, such as Education, Agriculture, and Rural Development, are received only around 75% of required budget of Royal Government of Cambodia(RGC). These ODA contributed into the Cambodian Millennium Development Goals, especially, health and HIV/AID sector, and transportation, the trade facility factors, which allowed the country being able to reduce the poverty. But these ODA also raise some questions and point to great lacunae in our knowledge.
