오늘날 수많은 웹사이트들 가운데서 사용자들의 시선을 집중시키고 효과적인 커뮤니케이션을 이루기 위해서는 기본적인 표현 뿐만이 아닌 창의적이고 차별화된 표현 전략을 통해 사용자들의 감성적인 부분까지 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 디자인이 필요하다. 이러한 관점에서 일러스트레이션은 차별화된 시각 요소로써 그 활용도가 높으며, 본 연구는 디지털 일러스트레이션의 웹사이트 인터페이스 디자인에서의 실무적인 활용 방안을 제시하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 연구 수행 방법으로 먼저 기존 문헌 조사를 통해 전통적인 일러스트레이션과 디지털 일러스트레이션의 개념과 차이점, 그 특성에 관해 고찰하고 정보디자인의 관점에서 웹사이트에서의 일러스트레이션이 가지는 특성과 의미를 연구하여 실무적인 측면에서 웹사이트에서의 일러스트레이션 활용 시 유의해야 할 사항을 3가지로 도출하였다. 이를 토대로 실제 웹사이트 디자인 개발 시의 활용 사례를 제시함으로써 향후 웹사이트의 디자인 개발 과정에서 디자이너들의 일러스트레이션 활용에 본 연구 결과가 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
Nowadays, a distinguished website design is required to attract user's attention. In order to achieve this aim, a creative expression strategy is needed to satisfy users' emotional part. in this point of view, it could be stated that illustraion is a very useful method as a characteristic visual element. This paper aims to suggest the application of Illustraion for the website interface design. In order to achieve this purpose, this study firstly investigated existing literatures to examine the concept and the difference between traditional illustration and digital illustration. Secondly in the point of view of information design, the characteristic and meaning of Illustraion in website design was researched. Through the result, three noticeable findings were discovered. Based on the findings, this study suggested the cases of appication in website design development. It is expected that the result of this study is able to help the designers' use of illustrations in the development of website interface design.
