다문화가족의 해체와 결혼이민자의 법적 보호

One of the most serious problems about multi-cultural families is the dissolution of their marriages. Dissolution of multi-cultural families due to divorce of Transnational Marriages and Korean citizens causes unbearable distress not only to those people who are directly involved but also to their children and relatives. This paper explains the cause of these dissolutions of multi-cultural families and focuses on providing legal protections to these immigrants who are divorced from their Korean spouses. Furthermore, this paper elaborates on providing citizenships to the divorced Transnational Marriages in multi-cultural families that are regulated by the 「Nationality Act」and the「Immigration Control Law」and then discuses some conflicts that current1y exist between these two Acts. Dissolution of multi-cultural families is mainly caused by erroneous information given by marriage brokers to the prospective couples the National Assembly has amended the relevant laws to regulate and to control the activities of marriage brokers. This paper also examines the contents of the amendments concerning marriage brokers and other related legal problems on them.
