초록
오늘날의 자동차 디자인은 다양한 요인들에 의해 변화되고 있다. 그것은 조형적 측면이나 자동차산업과 기술 변화에서 유래하는 디자인 변화요인 이외에도, 차량 운행 중에 발생할 수 있는 다양한 유형의 사고로부터 탑승자나 보행자의 안전성을 확보하기 위한 기술개발과, 그것의 적용을 의무화하는 법규 등으로 인해 차체의 구조와 형태 변화가 자동차 디자인의 변화의 요인으로 작용하고 있기 때문이다. 본 연구는 향후에 나타나게 될 차체 디자인 개발 방향에 대한 시사점을 얻기 위하여 최근의 차량 디자인 변화 사례 고찰을 통해, 최근에 적용되기 시작한 보행자 보호법에 따른 차체 디자인 변화를 살펴보았다. 이러한 고찰을 통해 보다 거시적인 관점에서 전반적인 차량의 기술과 디자인 변화가 차량 자체의 물리적인 성능이나 기능을 높이는 것에서, 차량을 이용하는 탑승자의 안전뿐만이 아니라, 차량이 주행하는 도로를 이용하는 보행자의 안전까지 고려한, 보다 포괄적인 교통수단의 개념으로 발전하고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 이러한 맥락에서 차량의 내･외장 디자인 역시 감성적이고 공기역학 측면의 디자인과 함께, 보다 종합적인 교통시스템의 구성요소의 하나로써 접근해야 한다는 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다.
Abstract
Today’s global automotive design is being changed by multifarious factors. The most of them are caused by the changes of structure and shape changes are resulted by applying safety regulations to get safety of passengers or pedestrians from various types of traffic accidents could occur during vehicle driving. This study reviewed recent automotive body design changes due to applying pedestrian protection regulations by observing recent examples to get implications for the directions of future automotive body design. By the results of the observation, it is deducted that the current automobiles are being developed as a total transportation mean with the concepts of safeties not only for the vehicle passengers but also the pedestrians outside of the vehicles on the point of macroscopic views. With these contexts of observing, it can be implied that the automotive designs in exterior/interior should be approached to one of the major elements of total transportations system as well as a tool for emotional and aerodynamic body styling.
