Korea-China FTA Negotiations for Trade in Services - Issues and Strategies -

Recognizing the increasing importance of service sectors in the two countries’national economies and in their bilateral trade, we discuss both horizontal and sector-specific issues for Korea-China FTA service negotiations with a view to exploring useful strategies. For the horizontal issues, we discuss the level of service negotiations to be sought, scheduling modality, GATS rules and recognition. In addition, we examine a number of sector-specific issues such as limitations on market access, maritime transport services and air transport services.
