제휴 역량은 글로벌 제휴 벤처기업의 경영 성과에 영향을 미치는가?

지금까지 전략적 제휴의 성과 동인에 관하여 많은 연구들이 수행되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는, 지분 구조, 계약 조건, 통제 메커니즘, 자산 보완성, 전략 초점, 산업 특성, 그리고 신뢰 정도 등 간접적인 제휴 성과 동인에 관한 기존 연구들과는 달리, 성과 창출의 직접 동인이라고 할 수 있는 제휴 역량이 글로벌 제휴를 수행하는 벤처기업의 경영 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 본 논문에서는 조직 역량 이론과 제휴수명주기 주장을 바탕으로 다섯 가지 유형의 제휴 역량을 제시하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 제휴 역량이 글로벌 제휴를 수행하는 벤처기업의 경영 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다. 구체적으로, 영역 및 파트너 선정 역량, 의사소통 역량, 유대 관계 역량, 그리고 평가 및 종료 역량은 제휴의 학습 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 영역 및 파트너 선정 역량, 협상 및 계약 역량, 의사소통 역량은 제휴의 경쟁 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다. 또한 제휴 역량은 효율성 개선, 제휴 목적 달성, 그리고 전반적인 제휴 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다.
Abstract
Lots of researches have been conducted on the drivers of alliance performance up to date. Unlike existing literatures focused upon such indirect drivers of alliance performance as ownership structure, contract condition, control mechanisms, asset complementarities, strategy focus, industry characteristics, and/or inter-organizational trust, we examine the influence of alliance capability as direct drivers on venture's alliance performance. Based upon organizational capability theory and alliance life cycle arguments, five types of alliance capability were proposed. According to results, alliance capability has considerable influence on performance of ventures with global alliances. We find that there is positive impact of domain/partner selection capability, communication capability, bonding capability, and evaluation/termination capability on learning-related alliance performance. We also uncover positive impact of domain/partner selection capability, negotiation/contracting capability, and communication capability on competition-related alliance performance. There is a general positive relationship between venture's alliance capability and alliance efficiency, alliance goal attainment, and alliance satisfaction.
