Patterns and measures of Corruption in Health care: A Focus on Pharmaceuticals Rebate

A rebate is an amount paid by way of reduction, return, or refund on what has already been paid or contributed. It is a type of sales promotion marketers use primarily as incentives or supplements to product sales. But a rebate in drug manufacturers is not positive meanings but negative meanings. But Pharmaceuticals Rebate are deemed to be unethical practices of concerned sectors, threatens to distort the patient's right to choose, to waste health care budget of government. To crackdown on unlawful drug marketing activities, A new bill, which orders lowering drug prices when drug makers are caught for unfair trading, has been enforced 2010. In times past, there were no legal grounds to punish doctors and pharmacists for taking kickbacks in connection with drug transactions. An effective approach calls for dual punishment on both the giving and receiving ends of illegal rebates. To address this problem, lawmakers have proposed bills that would make doctors and pharmacists subject to punishment for taking illicit money. I expect that an exclusive prosecutor will respond to cases more promptly, imposing sanctions against them and pledging to eradicate illegal practices in the drug industry. Pharmaceutical companies should to refrain from using rebates as a marketing tool.
