국내 노인요양시설 디자인에 대한 요양보호사의 평가 및 요구

Recent nursing homes have been developed and designed aiming towards deinstitutionalization and promoting quality of life of the elderly. Thus, a total nursing home design model development based on the elderly's needs has been required. In order to provide appropriate nursing homes that meets the needs of the elderly, their design should be suitably evaluated. However,relevant evaluation tools have not been available in Korea which leads to lack of verification whether an nursing home design is pertinent in providing care environment for the elderly during design processes. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to grasp caregivers' evaluation and needs on nursing home design which would enable design professionals to arrange a base of nursing homes design checklist. Content analysis method through literature reviews and questionnaire method on field experts were used. This was to find critical care environment design factors and its design direction on the basis of the caregivers' experience and the elderly's quality of life as the caregivers have the most contact with the elderly within the facility. The needs of the caregivers represent a midpoint between the elderly and facility operators and this would be a primary source for related design field specialists in designing the nursing homes.
