Studying the Effect of Chemyon on Organizational Behavior: Moderating Effects of Job Characteristics

This study investigated the structural relationship between Chemyon and organizational behavior with survey data from the employees of Korean public enterprises. Structural equation model was employed to analyze this relationship. It also examined the moderating effects of job characteristics on the relationship. Organizational behavior in this study consists of motivation to work and behavioral characteristics that were discovered through in-depth interview, that is politeness, informal relationship, and compliance to group norm. The results demonstrated that employees who are more conscious of their Chemyon are more likely to emphasize their interpersonal relationship in order to get positive evaluation from their peers. Regarding the moderating effect of job characteristics, people who are involved in more specialized jobs showed stronger relationship between Chemyon and motivation to work, while people in less specialized jobs showed stronger relationship between Chemyon and polite behavior.
