이주여성의 사회적 배제가 문화변용에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 사회적 배제의 실증적 영향력에 대한 문제의식으로부터 출발했으며, 이주여성의 사회적 배제와 문화변용 사이의 직·간접적 인과관계를 규명하려는 목적으로 수행되었다. 사회적 배제는 이주여성의 특성을 고려해, 경제적 배제, 교육적 배제, 사회참여로부터의 배제, 민족적 배제로 차원화 했으며, 문화변용은 이차원이론에 근거해 이주문화정체감과 원문화정체감으로 구분했다. 사회조사연구로 이루어졌으며, 의도적 표집을 통해 추출한 346명 이주여성의 자료를 구조방정식모델을 이용해 분석했다. 이주문화정체감은 교육적 배제에 의해 유의미한 영향을 받았으며, 원문화정체감은 교육적 배제와 사회참여로부터의 배제에 유의미한 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 사회참여로부터의 배제와 민족적 배제는 문화적응 스트레스에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으나, 문화적응 스트레스는 이주문화정체감과 원문화정체감에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못했다. 따라서 이주여성의 사회적 배제는 문화변용에 직접적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 반면 문화적응 스트레스를 통한 간접적 영향은 유의미하지 못한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the casual relationship between social exclusion and acculturation with a critical mind about empirical effects of social exclusion on individual's life. Social exclusion was dimensionalized as economic exclusion, exclusion from education, exclusion from social participation, and ethnic exclusion. This study was designed as a survey research with the data from 346 immigrant women. Structural equation model was employed to analyze the data. The results showed that exclusion from education significantly impacted on the cultural identity with origin culture and the cultural identity with immigrated culture. Exclusion from social participation significantly impacted on the cultural identity with origin culture. Also, exclusion from social participation significantly impacted on acculturative stress. Ethnic exclusion significantly determined the level of acculturative stress. However, acculturative stress did not impact on acculturation at a significant level.
