기능성 다리미의 기구 설계 및 외형 디자인에 관한 연구 -국내외 다리미 제품에 대한 외형디자인 평가조사-

As the use of the electric iron increases, so does the risk of exposure to fire and burns. Accidents by iron users are attributable not only to careless handling or power issue, which arises regardless of their safety consciousness, but also to less meticulous design framework in terms of safety. The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and stability in the exterior design of functional iron, highlighting a positive response to 'curved' and 'hard' exterior form in the design of a household iron. The findings suggest that future design trend in functional household iron should be more toward curved shape than rectilinear one, as well as toward hard structure than flexible one. Furthermore, as the meaning given to the term 'plain' connotes esthetic sense in a functional iron at home, it suggests that simple design draws more attraction than flashy one. Most effort of this research was made to investigate and analysis on exterior design of functional iron, and actual use surveys are not conducted.
