디자인 학부생을 위한 정보디자인 e-티칭 포트폴리오 사례

In the rapidly changing information age, a desirable designer should have ability to solve design problems with a good understanding of social and cultural context. The researcher realized necessity of information design to be covered in basic courses of digital contents major for enhancing student's logical, integrated problem solving ability. This research is e-teaching portfolio about teaching information design during 'multimedia basics 2' course on second semester of 2011. Prior to carrying out information design course, the researcher researched about related publications and papers. Then, the researcher interviewed information design professionals, authors of related publications and other professors who have teaching experience of information design. Before carrying out the class, the researcher allowed the students to be fully informed about this course by revealing researcher's personal information, goal of education and assignments. The ultimate goal of this course was to train designers who have ability to solve design problems with a comprehension of social and cultural context. To achieve this, the researcher introduced NIE(Newspaper In Education) method in this class and decided on designing information for newspaper as a final assignment. The researcher had a lecture consulting on 4th week of the course and received lecture evaluation from students to improve overall quality of the class. According to the evaluation, it can be confirmed that students showed positive reactions to 'the teaching method based on the understanding of context'. This research is a record of a professor's information design education. The researcher wishes there to be an increase in chances of discussion and sharing of teaching methods due to this research.
