Quantity Flexibility contract coordinates individually motivated supplier and buyer to the systemwide optimal outcome by effectively allocating the costs of market demand uncertainty. The main feature of the contract is to couple the buyer's commitment to purchase no less than a certain percentage below the forecast with the supplier's guarantee to deliver up to a certain percentage above. In this paper we propose a long-term replenishment planning model for a single buyer and a single supplier comprising a supply chain. The long-term replenishment planning model between a supplier and a buyer secures competitive advantages for both agents through the more efficient control of a system. The model we are concerned focuses on the contract type that is frequently practiced in the high-tech manufacturing industries such as a semiconductor industry. A mathematical model from buyer's perspective is developed for a quantity flexible type of contract. The buyer-supplier interactions are analyzed using the model and an algorithm to find the buyer’s optimum contract strategy is proposed. A computational experiment shows that the algorithm is never fails to find the global optimum solution within a reasonable amount of time.
