고등학교 창의적 체험활동과 대학입학사정관전형의 연계 방안 탐색- 교사들의 의견을 중심으로

All types of high school activities should be educationally meaningful. Therefore, what students experience from participating in high school extracurricular activities should be regarded as a critical factor to evaluate their learning outcomes. This study delved into the way that high school students experience meaningful and creative extracurricular activities from high school-university articulation as emphasized by the 2009 revised national curriculum. In particular, this study attempted to identify the issues to be considered in order to articulate high school’s extracurricular activities with university admissions systems using teacher’s viewpoints. Methodologically, the authors visited eight exemplary high schools and interviewed twenty teachers who have been in charge of extracurricular programs and the university application process. The eight high schools were, based on articulation efforts with universities, sampled from a high school profiling database. According to the findings, the teachers prioritized high school-university articulation that makes high school students’ learning outcomes of extracurricular activities more meaningful and successful in transition to university. For effective high school-university articulation, a fair and unbiased evaluation system needs to be implemented and staffed by university admissions officers. High school students will then understand how their learning and experiences both in and out of school settings are important for their intellectual and emotional growth.
