도서자원의 문화관광산업화와 관광스토리텔링에 관한 연구

The paper is focused both on the utilization of tourism story-telling and the upgrade of the tourism image of the small islands of the Province of Chonnam in the Southern Sea. The storytelling which requires a less cost in the tourism development of the islands attracts more tourists by making them get interested in something special or a various remarkable sites of the islands, and improves the satisfaction of inbound tourists in the region by giving them a variety of particular experiences or special tour courses. In Korea, islands have been also historically isolated from the social activities of the mainstream residents in the mainland. However, in the post-industrial period, islands shed new light on the new source of tourism, as different types of tourism industry develop and evolve in recent decades and a new period of marine tourism shows up nowadays. In other words, islands have been regarded recently as a remarkable tourism resources that contain ecological and folkloristic values, historical sites, cultural heritages and finally natural beauties. It is very important to develop a variety of tourism story-telling by utilizing various resources of islands. To implement regional tourism policy more effectively, each level of regional government has to pay attention to the development of tourism story-telling by taking advantages of island resources, and needs to cooperate with related manpower or specialists more actively.
