대학입학사정관제 지원사업 집행에 나타난 대학의 디커플링 분석- A대학의 사례 연구

Neoinstitutionalists have argued that organizations, with a view to longer survival, pursue to achieve external legitimacy that society grants to them as well as internal technical efficiency, when external environments create institutional pressure contradicting with their long time established practices. Directions and degree of decoupling of organization might vary depending on organization's technical environments consisting of various organizational factors. Non-profit organizations, like colleges and universities, are no exception in the sense that they are facing harsher market competition then before and should make strategic reponses to survive and flourish. This study aims at exploring the decoupling mechanism which became evident in the implementation process of the new college admission policy in Korea: The admissions officer system. In the case study approach to a single university four decoupling behaviors were observed and analyzed. Researcher presented interpretation of these decoupling phenomena and their policy implications from a perspective viewing decoupling as a process of policy adaptation.
