모홀리 나기의 조형원리에 근거한 빛을 이용한 디자인 교육사례

This research suggested the vision of photogram as a new design language and looked into the design teaching method of Moholy-Nagy that applied the experimental works and educational philosophy of kinetic art, to suggest its methods and contents. In the educational courses, the learners can discover new design factors in the interactions between light and objects. The new experiences are the visual recognitions that they happen to discover in terms of reflection, absorption, and penetration of the light. The learners can carry out new exploration into the imagination, by observing and experimenting with the chance effects of the light. The positive effect of design education, which is called the extension of various thinking, is expected to be created in the process of reinterpreting and defining the design factors in the chance effects and establishing the their concepts. In other words, we address the importance of the light as a design mediator, in the educational experiments which are based on the theory of the design concept of the light. We discuss the visual discovery and potential application of the dynamic tension and spatial structure that the light energy has, in terms of uncertainty, atypical form, unpredictability, and fluidity of the shade and shadow. This study suggests that the light can be used in various educational forums of design, by looking into the artworks and educational philosophy of Moholy-Nagy who suggested the experiments of new technologies in new forms.
