사용자 인터페이스 향상을 위한 내비게이션 디자인 -조그 리모트컨트롤러와 사용자 인터페이스디자인의 인지적 일체화를 적용한 디자인-

Many navigation products are being released to address the recent increase in the use of navigation, and corporations are dependent on more and more functions, contents, and new technologies in order to increase their market competitiveness. Navigation programs are required frequently used by drivers during operation; thus safe control is very important. With the use of touch screen control, however, the driver is fixed at an inconvenient position; hence it is difficult to keep their eyes on the road as well as react quickly when an unexpected situation occurs. In order to solve this problem, this study has set its focus on increasing safety and convenience while using a navigational device. As a detailed solution, a jog dial remote controller is used and an interface design that is cognitively connected to the jog dial remote controller has been added, thus establishing a unique design strategy of combined planning. The purpose of applying the jog dial remote control is to increase the degree of safety and convenience while driving, as compared to using existing touch screens. It is easy to learn and use the intuitive interface. Furthermore, it has also been devised in order not to confuse the user while driving and installed at a location preferred by the user according to his or her usual behavior or convenience.
